Hi !

My name is Tracy Shambis and I am an author and illustrator from Devon. Originally from Worcestershire, it was a childhood dream of mine to live by the sea. Having visited Devon on many a family holiday, I finally made the move down in 2007 and have lived here ever since.

Another childhood dream of mine was to write and illustrate my own children’s picture books. I have always loved writing and drawing and finally, just over a year ago, I plucked up the courage to pursue that dream.

I now have two published books out as part of the “If I Lived At” series. “If I Lived At The Circus” was released in May 2021 and “If I Lived At The North Pole” was released just in time for Christmas, on December 1^st 2021. I am currently working on the third book in the series.

My picture books are aimed at an audience of 0-5 year olds. They are short, rhyming stories, designed for easy and fun bedtime reading, with things to find along the way! The purpose behind them is to ignite the imagination, to take children on a journey to places they may not have had the chance to see, encouraging questions and the engagement of parent/child relationships as well as learning to read.

In an age where technology dominates, my passion is to keep alight the love of reading a physical book.

I am a self taught digital illustrator. I produce my artwork on my IPad using an illustrator App called ProCreate.
